Will I, won't I? Speculation, Procrastination, Preparation and Planning

Well, as the title suggests, Galapagos Islands have been on the bucket list for some time, was going to squeeze them in on the Antarctic trip, but South America is simply just too BIG.

When the Aurora catalogue arrived in the mail last year, there was a new tour...it included Galapagos. That was what I was looking for. Aurora is the company that took us to Antarctica and they did a brilliant job, so I really wasn't going to look past them.

So after several weeks of procrastinating, I phoned to enquire. Yes there were two places left, so I booked, with the expectation of sharing with a stranger.

Once I had decided, I emailed Aunty Sue, just to let her know and suss out any interest on her part. I really didn't expect her to come, but didn't want to mention it at Christmas and have Aunty Sue say she would have been interested. Anyway, after indicating some interest and further discussion with Uncle Keith, the answer was a fantastic YES. So that took care of the very last place on the Aurora 'Ecuador in Depth - Ecuador, Amazon & Galapagos' expedition. How very exciting.

So a few months later, we have also decided to add an Intrepid - 'Beautiful Machu Picchu' tour, as well.

We have now sorted out all our connecting accommodation and insurance etc, the only thing left to do now is pay for this adventure.

We will be away for about 6 weeks in September, October and can't wait.

So at the moment there is not much more to tell.

...and so begins Suzie and Nicola's excellent Ecuadorian expedition!!!
